ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR the STACY M. BROWN MEMORIAL I.T. SCHOLARSHIP

2023–2024 SCHOOL YEAR
To be eligible for the STACY M. BROWN MEMORIAL I.T. SCHOLARSHIP, the applicant must:

Attend a high school in the Guilford County School System.
2. Be a resident of North Carolina.

3. Successfully graduate from a Guilford County School System high school in the Fall of 2023 or Spring of 2024.
​
4. Have a cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0-point scale.

5. Be a deserving high school senior African American student who has been accepted for full-time study at an accredited four-year college or university in Greensboro, High Point, or Winston Salem, NC majoring in Computer Science, I.T., Data Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, or related technical field (Scholarship Committee determines major eligibility).
One (1) $25,000 scholarship will be awarded divided equally into eight (8) consecutive Fall and Spring Semesters. Presentation of scholarships will be at Senior Awards Day whenever possible or at a date to be determined. Actual release of funds will require proof of enrollment and is contingent upon Full Time student status and minimum GPA.
Candidates must adhere to the following criteria to be considered for the scholarship:

Complete and submit the scholarship application form.

Submit a one-page personal letter explaining why you wish to pursue your selected field of study and why you should be considered for this scholarship.

Provide a copy of your college acceptance letter.

Provide two letters of recommendation. At least one letter should be from your Counselor, Teacher or Principal.

Provide a copy of your SAT or ACT scores. (2023/2024 Graduates are EXEMPT).

Provide an official school transcript (electronic or hard copy).
